Bespoke Stained Glass Windows

Matt has decades of experience designing, making and fitting bespoke stained glass windows for residential properties. Every window is individually designed to suit its setting, taking into consideration the age and character of the property, the surrounding architecture and the individual requirements of the client.

Traditional Leaded Lights

There is a real skill to designing a traditional residential leaded light. As well as creating a design that complements the space, consideration needs to be given to how light will travel through the window and how the colours, textures and transparency of different glasses will change depending on the direction the window faces.

Traditional techniques and materials can be used to create new leaded lights that sit naturally within both period and contemporary homes.

Stained Glass for Front Doors

Stained glass and leaded lights can transform a front door, entranceway or vestibule while retaining the character of a property. Matt can design new panels, recreate missing or damaged sections and work with existing stained glass to repair and restore original features.

Designs can be created to complement the period and architecture of the property, from traditional Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco styles to completely bespoke contemporary designs.

Stained Glass Repair & Restoration

Matt undertakes repairs and restoration of residential stained glass and leaded lights, from individual pieces of cracked or broken glass to more extensive re-leading and restoration.

Wherever possible, original glass is retained and repaired, with replacement glass carefully selected when required to complement the colour, texture and character of the existing window.

Encapsulated Stained Glass & Triple Glazing

Modern glazing techniques mean that traditional leaded lights and stained glass can also be encapsulated between two sheets of clear glass to create a triple-glazed unit.

This allows the appearance and craftsmanship of traditional stained glass to be combined with the thermal performance and protection of modern glazing. The finished units can be installed in much the same way as conventional double-glazed units, including into modern uPVC window frames.
